Problem
A luxury deconstructivist brand wanted to translate a treasured vintage reference garment—characterized by a specific, delicate neck drop and asymmetric construction—into a modern, production-ready collection. The complexity lay in creating two distinct SKUs from a single inspiration: a sheer cashmere piece with a 3/4 sleeve, and a full-sleeve boat neck in structured cashmere. Simultaneously, the collection included a deconstructed pinstripe skirt that demanded perfect pattern alignment across seams (a common failure point in plaid/stripe construction), paired with wrap-seam trousers featuring complex internal finishing. The aesthetic was vintage, but the production requirements were modern and exacting.

Solution
Conducted a detailed structural audit of the vintage reference garment, mapping the neckline geometry and proportional relationships to preserve the design intent while scaling for modern production. For the knitwear, engineered two separate technical specifications: a lightweight tension tolerance for the sheer 3/4 sleeve cashmere (maintaining the delicate drape while ensuring opacity control), and a high-density gauge specification for the full-sleeve boat neck (preventing opacity loss and maintaining structural snap-back). Each spec accounted for cashmere's inherent elongation characteristics and recovery behavior.
For the tailored bottoms, developed a precise placement-print and weave-alignment mapping for the pinstripe skirt, ensuring symmetry across the side seams and eliminating the visual disruption that occurs when stripes misalign at seam junctions. For the wrap trousers, implemented a hidden stay-panel construction at the wrap break-point, ensuring the wrap-seam remained stable during movement and eliminating the risk of accidental exposure or sagging. Created detailed tech packs for both pieces, with full grading specifications and construction callouts for the stay-panel integration.
